If you look around, you may never find the option to disable the touchpad while typing on your own. Windows 10 can do that actually, although it’s not quite clearly labeled as such anywhere within the OS. Automatically Disable Touchpad on Windows 10 When everything is smart these days, it wouldn’t be bad if Windows got a bit smart and disabled it automatically when a user types, and enable it when the typing stops. But turning it off while typing only to then need it for a bit, open a new tab, look at the source material, or anything else, can be a major pain. Even if it doesn’t, it can be disabled in the Mouse Settings via software. It would be really nice then if Windows could automatically disable the touchpad while typing.Īs we mentioned the last time, most laptops do come with a dedicated key or at least a key combination to disable the touchpad when needed. Maybe you don’t have a mouse connected to your laptop but the big touchpad isn’t so big at palm rejection as it should be.
